1953. A London shattered by WWII is still recovering. Williams (Bill Nighy), a veteran civil servant, is an important cog within the city’s bureaucracy as it struggles to rebuild. Buried under paperwork at the office, lonely at home, his life has long felt empty and meaningless. Then a shattering medical diagnosis forces him to take stock – and to try and grasp fulfilment before it goes beyond reach. At a seaside resort, chaperoned by a local decadent (Tom Burke), he flirts with hedonism before rejecting it as his solution. Back in London he finds himself drawn to the natural vitality of Margaret (Aimee Lou Wood), a young woman who once worked under his supervision and is now determined to spread her wings. Then one evening he is struck by a revelation – one as simple as it is profound – and with a new energy, and the help of Peter (Alex Sharp), an idealistic new recruit to his department, he sets about creating a legacy for the next generation. © © CHANNEL FOUR TELEVISION CORPORATION, COUNTY HALL ARTS AND NUMBER 9 FILMS LIVING LIMITED 2022 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED |

This outrageous comedy finds a rogues’ gallery of wealthy guests (from business tycoons to heiresses) aboard a hyper-luxury yacht, whose downtrodden staff – under the command of their captain and avowed Marxist (Woody Harrelson) – must respond to their every belittling whim in the hope of winning tips. Among the super-rich patrons are the oh-so-beautiful couple Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean), two models and social media influencers who have been invited on a free trip to show off the kind of lavish lifestyle many could only dream of. When the vessel is shipwrecked after a storm, the remaining passengers and crew are left stranded on an island. Here, survival skills become the new currency and hierarchical structures are upended, with the ship’s toilet cleaner Abigail (Dolly De Leon) taking charge over the moneyed elites, who are at a loss without their creature comforts. Fate introduces a little equality among the survivors, with anarchic, shocking, and hilarious results. After winning the Palme d’Or in 2017 for The Square, Östlund entered that rare category of directors to win the prize twice with his latest film. Just as he skewered family values in Force Majeure and the art world in The Square, in his latest effort the filmmaker takes to task the wealthiest of the wealthy, the social media set, and the treatment of those whose service-industry jobs make them invisible, yet when the world is turned upside down become indispensable. Triangle of Sadness is further evidence of Östlund’s brilliant skewering of modern Western society, its values, and everything that those who profit from it hold dear. © © 2022 - Plattform Produktion AB, Film i Väst AB, Sveriges Television AB, Essential Filmproduktion GmbH, Coproduction Office Ltd., Société Parisienne de Production SARL, Coproduction Office ApS, British Broadcasting Corporation, The British Film Institute, Arte France Cinéma |

Martin, a mentally disturbed loner who lives with his nagging mother on a bleak London council estate, where loud neighbours and squalid living conditions threaten to plunge this victim of sexual and psychological abuse over the edge. Working the night shift as an attendant at an underground car park, he indulges his obsession with The Human Centipede (First Sequence) watching the film over and over on a laptop in his office and meticulously examining the scrapbook he has lovingly filled with memorabilia from the film, including the ass-to-mouth surgery instructions made famous by Dr. Heiter, the mad scientist from Martin's favourite film. Pushed to the brink by his belligerent mother and haunted by the teasing voices of his abusive and imprisoned father, Martin sets into motion his plan to emulate Heiter's centipede by creating his own version. In a rented warehouse, he begins to acquire victims, including his loud, violent neighbour, a prostitute and her lecherous client, and several more: including Martin's piece de resistance, one of the actresses from The Human Centipede (First Sequence). Although lacking the medical skills of his hero, Martin soldiers on with grotesque DIY gusto, armed with a healthy supply of duct tape, household tools and staple guns! What follows is one of the most harrowing and terrifying films ever conceived, featuring a central character that makes Dr. Heiter seem tame in comparison. The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) is a triumph in biological body-horror by Tom Six, one of the new masters of the horror genre. © © 2011 Six Entertainment |

A portrait of the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt whose lavish, sexual paintings came to symbolise the Art Nouveau style of the late 19th and early 20th century. Director Raúl Ruiz transports us back to the year 1918 where Gustav Klimt (John Malkovich) lies on his deathbed. We follow Klimt's feverish visions back to the Austrian pavilion at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris, where he is awarded the gold medal for his work entitled "Philosophy". At the pavilion he encounters the film magician, Méliès, with the mysterious French dancer, Lea de Castro alongside the “Secretary", an oppressive fatherly figure who accompanies Klimt through the film like a shadow. Gustav Klimt's paintings have a fascinating expressiveness, passion, sensuality, and like his own life, are dedicated to women. Way ahead of his time, he was celebrated in Paris but condemned in his home town of Vienna for being provocative. © © 2014 Soda Pictures Ltd |
